Analogue to the other threads here is a sketch of Alvorien. Like in the previous posts, I am looking for comments and advice. http://www.jray.de/dragon.jpg

Awww... being a Dragonlance dude, I like it! But it is strange it has no wings, though. -- |

That looks good. I like the pose. I'd lengthen the tail and neck myself as he looks a bit squat at the moment. |

It's a rough sketch so maybe he will add wings later;).

Another great one. I think it's better without wings -- have it fly through the air like a snake swimming in the watter. -- |

Looks nice, like a real dragon, but I don't like pencil, can you use a black ink pen (chinesse ink) instead? sorry ____ "The unlimited potential has been replaced by the concrete reality of what I programmed today." - Jordan Mechner. |

Great one Micah! I like big, muscular European dragons more than those weird Chinese ones. Quote: I don't like pencil, can you use a black ink pen (chinesse ink) instead? Ink and pencils both can create beautiful effects when used properly. -R |

It was probably some dinosaur, and it's really bad breath was mistaken for breathing fire. EDIT: Of course, it's not like Europeans didn't have contact with Chinese. They traded silk and junk.

AFAIK Chinese dragons were representations of rivers and other flows of water, and that's the reason they're snake-like. European dragons appeared in greek, roman and norse traditions and sometimes are like snakes, others are like big lizards. Maybe all those stories come from a much earlier, common myth about the fear to snakes and reptiles. -R |

i'd imagine a dragon as some kind of vertically-oriented type thing; like something that has big sharp claws as it's (two) feet and like a t-rex almost only with enormous wings that kinda cover most of the body... that would be cool (in my opinion). Yeah, either that or the snake type dragon. that lizard-type dragon seriously would have to be my least-favourite but hay dragons are dragons, they're still cool. (\ /) |

I love the concept of dragons, but I find it pretty hard to find a picture of one that suits my imagination of what a dragon should look like. |

Quote: funny both european and chinese have references to the same create makes me wander if they were ever really existed. and if they did how did they breath fire?
Cultural cross-bleed, plus that it's a concept that isn't that hard to come up with. Note that the modern concept of a dragon isn't necessarily the old local concept of it... (in most old European dragon myths, the dragons were basically just big-ass serpents) Quote: EDIT: Of course, it's not like Europeans didn't have contact with Chinese. They traded silk and junk. And diseases. -- |

I love that dragon! His fatness really fits in there. X Archon: That's the cutest lizard I've ever seen!!! Cookies for you! Trezker: The first one's not so good, the second one is half vicious half cute, and the third is popular with the boys too And yes, what gnolam said. |

Here it doesn't matter whether it's from Avon or not it's sold for 5Kc. Anyway it doesn't matter for me, because I gave up playing M:tG. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

Ok, regarding the comments you made, here is a new suggestion, which is slightly different from the sketch: http://www.jray.de/dragon2proc.jpg Sorry, but the colored version is not cleaned yet.
