Author's Description: Multiplatform map editor and playback source, some features:

Single FMP file format (0.5) compatible with all versions of Mappy and playback libraries
User definable MAP file format for compatibility with other systems
Supports 8/15/16/24/32bit colour modes
Supports all resolutions
Supports still and animated tiles
Supports tile sizes of 8*8 upto 128*128, including non-square tiles
30000 tiles, AND 2048 anims available
Can edit maps with rectangular, isometric, hexagonal and other shape tiles

  • 9Mappy is just brilliant and thoroughly deserving a 10 if you do 2D/hex games. It's only 9 because the iso mode isn't really iso. Still, if you don't do iso, then it's 10 all the way :)
  • 8It's a map editor with some extra features. I normally create maps with mappy, then use a home-made script to convert the rather complex mappy map into a simple 3dimensional tile map.
  • 10Very usefull and complete map editor, good and easy to use playback library. Can export to GBA format !
