Depot Games: Captain Pork's Revenge
Project Status: Completed Highest Popularity: #15 during April 2007 Links: Web Site Category: Platform Developers: Linley Henzell Ports: DOS Source Code: Available Author's Description: My take on Molez/Liero. The sequal to Captain Pork's World of Violence. If you've played Liero you'll know the basic idea: a side-on 2D game where you dig through a system of tunnels and try to defeat various opponents with similar capabilities to yourself. CP's Revenge has the following features: - Lots of weapons, objects, creatures to play, game modes, etc etc. - Nasty AIs (up to 7 of them at once, IIRC) - Multiplayer (using Libnet); 2 players split-screen or up to 4 using a null-modem cable. There's an experimental IPX mode that might work, but I don't have access to a LAN to test it. - Light-sourcing using Allegro's transparency functions in 8-bit colour. I had to rewrite the colour mapping function to get this to do what I wanted. It's covered by the GPL, so source is available. It's written for DJGPP under DOS/Win95, and you'll need the Libnet networking library as well as Allegro to compile. Downloads

Not much to put here. Writing games is fun. I don't have a proper website at the moment, so click on the Depot link above to see my Allegro games. (View Profile) |
